Take action against SUV advertising
Advertising for polluting SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicles) is pushing up the number of these vehicles on the road.
Larger vehicles are heavier and burn more fuel than smaller models – and pose a safety risk to pedestrians and cyclists.
The adverts promoting these cars will our scupper efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from road transport – as well as reinforcing the social status symbol of owning large vehicles.
The thinktank New Weather Institute and climate change charity Possible are running a petition to end SUV advertising in the UK.
